Inspiration/Research

Based on the colors given and knowing the history of Atmos sneakers, the concept of using animal prints, was vital to the designs. Atmos uses materials to tell their story and create visual attention grabbers. With that in mind, animal print being the hero of the design was kept in mind.

Apollo 19

Apollo 19 would be the future of space travel. Drawing its name from the Apollo program by NASA, the shoe is inspired by space, sports and music.
The color way reimagines popular patterns in a new way. Taking the traditionally named "safari print" and renaming it "moon print" for this project, the idea takes the texture of the moon's surface and applies it to the shoe.
The red, black and white not only pays homage to NASA but to the colors attributed to the flight of one of the greatest to ever play basketball, Michael Jordan.
Artists such as musician Kid Cudi and designer Tom Sachs also played into the inspiration of the name and concept of the shoe.
If placed into production, the shoe would've featured heat blanket material as wrapping paper for the shoes.
Serengeti

Serengeti takes inspiration from what the brand, Atmos is famous for but continuing the story.
The exotic materials traditionally associated Safari packs of the past were taken and new colors and materials were added to it.
The name is derived from the Serengeti National Park, which is one of the world's most popular safaris. Wanderlust calls it "arguably the best-known wildlife spectacle on the planet".
The colors and materials were pulled to emulate the natural colors you would see visiting and animals located in the safari.
Non-submitted Concepts
Down and Out

The Down and Out name comes from the song by rappers Cam'ron and Kanye West. The concept was to play on the idea of exotic and high end products.
Cam'ron is infamously known for wearing the color pink and was not shy about it; hence the use of the pink camouflage.
Cam'ron also rapped about the types of exotic animal furs he owned, so black croc zebra prints are used to highlight this. The reds and 3M materials are a nod to exotic sports cars.
Albi No.1

The Albi No.1 color way is inspired by rare, albino animals. Albinism is caused by a rare genetic mutation in certain genes that causes lack of pigment in the body; which controls eye, skin and hair color.
Albino animals often have red eyes, which is why the eyelet is red. The upper is all white and white and tan zebra print would be used in the final production to represent an albino Zebra.
D-Lux Editions

The D-Lux editions were designed with high-end luxury goods in mind. Elements of a lavish lifestyle were considered in the design of this color way. Quality leathers, such as ones used in luxury cars and are hand stitched and custom selected for the vehicle.
Gold has always been a symbol of status and the color was incorporated to speak on that.
Namibia Nights

Namibia Nights was inspired by the beautiful skies that can be seen in the country; which is also the location of Etosha National Park.
Dark greens like the ones you'd see in the night sky and trees were used. Blacks to represent the dark of the night were used as well. The hits of animal prints play to the animals you would find in the park; giraffes and elephants and more.
The eyelet tab was made eye to make the shoe look like the eye of an animal.
Eye of the Tiger

The Tiger is one of the most fearsome animals in the wild. The emerald green eye stay tab, under the tiger print Vamp/eye stay really gives the shoe the feel of a tiger's face.
The elephant print was used to give contrast and balance to the orange and black on the front of the shoe and give the lateral view of the shoe and eye grabbing look.
The 3M on the toe and tongue would be used to create a flash effect when photos are taken of the shoe and create a visible attention grabber at night when light hits it.
