Final Design
To tell the story of New York through my personal perspective, I chose to do a New York Fashion Week inspired shoe, called the Concrete Jungle. As a fashion designer, fashion week draws me back to my birthplace pretty frequently. And not only does it represent me but New York as a whole, as the entire world's eyes tune into New York to see new styles in the industry.
The name of the shoe is a Nickname for the city and the Materials of the shoe play on the "Jungle" concept, using skins from different animals found in the wild.
The "Concrete" or human part with flashy materials, like iridescent plastics and 3M to give the shoe color and represent what people love to see on the runway.
To represent the history of the Airmax 95, a shoe that was designed and adapted for street style, more so than performance; the shoe is designed with comfort in mind, featuring a fur lining with a quilted insole.
